It had rained last evening and during the night but it wasn't raining when we left home at 4:45am. Tha wasn't to last long as I felt like singing The Pina Colada song, the line about "getting caught in the rain". I had Turi and the 3 furry poodle types, Princesa, Buddy, and Nene who has a renewed courtship with the reluctant Turi (they are both fixed but that doesn't stop our smallest to try to mount our biggest). 4 blocks from home a slight sprinkle turned into a downpour so we had to seek refuge under the overhang of the nearest house. The rain then came down so hard that we had a lake on either side of us now... Then I saw movement that I thought was birds but their actions seemed odd. Now it was time to sing Joy To The World's opening line, "Jeremiah was a bullfrog" as 3 of them crossed the road and were having a feast on bugs attracted by the streetlight. Our dogs were real troopers to stay with me calmly like they did. After 45 minutes of painfully waiting, we retraced out steps through the smallest lake with our pace slowed by my soggy crocs. There was no way I wanted to fall down on the running streets. We got soaked, but finally made it home safely. I had to dry Nene a little because the poor guy still has a full coat of fur and he was just a soggy ball.
So, after a busy day yesterday, we took the day off to rest. I watched movies in the afternoon, and took a couple of shots for you, mostly good ones too!
I am somewhat dismayed that a good friend I met in Cuenca decided to unfriend me on Facebook because of our diametrically opposed views on his President. I won't miss his horrible unsubstantiated attacks on Biden, Harris and the Clintons. Hopefully that will resolve itself after the election when the orange menace gets thrown out resoundingly.
