The night before last, I was checking to see what was on cable before switching to NetFlix, but I came across the start of "The Green Book" and the name rang a bell, so I decided to watch.  This movie won 3 Oscars and numerous other awards and rightfully so,.. simply a powerful, powerful movie set in the early 60's.  Highly recommended!

Yesterday we had a big rain at 4:45am so I went back to bed for a bit.  Around 5:20am the rain had stopped so I took my intrepid trio on a soggy short walk.  We did things a little different and came up on part of our regular route backwards.  The road was blocked by a huge puddle right across it and we turned to go back but we heard a splashing so we turned back.  The horse I have named Charlie had come to the fence for his morning chat and petting, soggily standing in about 6" of water and mud where he was behind the fence.  If he could make that effort to greet us, how could I refuse??  We all got wet feet, but it was worth it to have our customary morning greeting with the faithful Charlie.  Our black street doggy friend that we cured of penile cancer, Negro, also comes every morning now to greet us on our walk further along.  We are blessed.

Then I spent almost 10 hours working on another selection of Elvis artworks, taking freely available photos off the Internet, enlarging, cleaning, changing, coloring and altering them so they are nowhere near the original photo, hopefully much more artistic.

Late that night I got a notice from RedBubble that they had unilaterally pulled all my recently uploaded Elvis artworks, even though I had stated in the description where the original photo came from:

Hi Al,
We’re sorry, but we had to remove your artwork from the Redbubble marketplace, because it *MAY* contain material that violates someone’s rights.
The owner of these rights has provided us with *guidance* describing the *type of content* they consider infringing that should be removed from the marketplace.
In most cases, this means that the rights holder did *NOT SPECIFICALLY IDENTIFY YOUR WORK* for removal, but that Redbubble has detected *POTENTIAL SIMILARITY* between your removed work and one or more *WORDS*, *PHRASES* OR *IMAGES* included in the rights holder’s removal *GUIDANCE*.
Your artwork will not be reinstated, and you should not upload it again. This usually brings the matter to a close.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  Angry does not begin to describe my attitude to the absolute cowardice of RedBubble which is the only site that does this to their artists.  No recourse, we are guilty without proof or justice.  Note the nebulous phrasing MAY and POTENTIAL....  What a bunch of weenies!  I have almost had it with those yo-yos already....
This morning, Charlie was again waiting for us, clean and dry, and Negro met us again further up the road.  Walking in the cool air of the pre-dawn is so refreshing.
After Wednesday chores and poop and garbage patrol I made OJ from some of our oranges and a few large ones that Cristina bought.  The larger bought ones actually have way more juice, if the truth be told.  It takes a lot of oranges to get a pitcher of juice and our supply barely made 1/2 a pitcher.
I had a 45 minute rest before grabbing the clippers and giving myself a close buzz-cut.  Heck, I am almost bald now anyway and have never liked comb-overs.  Long hair in this heat is not wise or comfortable anyway, but I still have not had the gumption to shave it right off, totally.  Some day, I just might.
 We got ready to go into Tulua to get the house papers and Aram came along to get some bolts to attach their new TV to their wall bracket.  The TV did not come with screws.  While Cristina went and got the documents with virtually no line-up, we went to about 6 hardware stores before finding bolts that may work..  We walked back to the escritura to get Cristina because she was not calling, nor answering her phone.  She was nowhere to be seen so we headed back to where we were parked, muttering under our breath..  However there she was, waiting for us, having forgotten her bloody phone at home..  Honestly, her mind is always somewhere else now.
We dropped off Aram and I went to grab fried chicken for lunch.  We got 5 big breast pieces for 8,000 pesos or $2.08 USD, enough for 2 days for me..
On our block there was a police truck beside one of these horse-drawn dray wagons and they were unhooking the horse who looked in very good shape to me but Cristina was super angry.  The wagon had lost a spring on one side so the load was resting on a tire, making it awful for the horse to pull.  Cristina wanted to strangle these old dray drivers for mistreating horses in general.  I hate to see them on the road amongst the cars, bikes and buses but they do serve a valuable purpose here and usually the horses appear in good condition.
Tom Thumb is again a regular and the other birds enjoy the other feeder as well.  Today we had a surprise flyover by a couple of large hawks which we don't see often.
I suppose we all have our little mind games with ourselves unconsciously that keeps us sharper mentally.  For instance, I go out, take a few more shots, and when I come to download the photos, I guess at how many I took.  Usually I am pretty darn close but today I was bang on, and we do smile at those small victories.
 All the rosebushes have rosebuds ready to bloom, or blooming.  They look large in the photos but really they are the size of my small finger yet, so dainty and pretty.  Even the white and peach roses are on the way.
As I write this, we are getting a drenching thunderstorm, always welcome to cool off the house for the night, presently 28.3C...
I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.
Al
