Last night, one of our dear Canadian friends decided that they wanted to help Cristina with the expenses to look after the street dogs.  The expenses are many, and the donations are small, so this was welcome news as even a Canadian dollar goes a long way here.  They have already e-transferred money to me to pass along, and Cristina is tickled pink that someone cares.  Thank you Frank and Jen.  Cristina wants you to know how much she appreciates this!

Cristina's niece, Ana, bought her some fancy tennis shoes from someone that sells via parties, or catalogs, whatever...  The downside is that we had to drive to Zarzal (30 kms via a damned toll booth both ways, near Roldanillo) to retrieve them.  I agreed to go as an outing, with the proviso that the meeting was arranged for 12:30pm.  So she contacts Ana to contact the lady that we will be at the central park by 12:30.  At noon, we arrive and stop for lunch at a nearby cafe.  We each have a full meal, with juice, for under $5 USD total (it cost less than the road tolls).  I press Cristina only to find out that the meet has not been confirmed, the gal has not responded...  Grrrr...  A few phone calls later and we are directed to this lady's grandmother's place where she may be...,,  We're in luck, she is there, without her phone which is charging....  So Cristina now has her new shoes.  Thank you Ana.  And it was a pleasant outing.

We broke in the new runners by a quick trip to LA14 for supplies and my salad fixings.  For the first time in months Cristina did not do her usual disappearing act into the clothing section.   Now I need to cut up my cabbages.

It is a very cloudy day with rain in the area, but not falling here yet.  I do my best to liven up the photos.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.
