Yesterday I went with Victor to the SRI office to check out the problems with getting our IVA tax refunds from December.  They finally paid the November refund in mid-February.
To hand in your receipts in person, you now have to itemize every one on a big form.
I also found out that the 10c that is short on every monthly payment is actually a Bank deduction for processing the payment.  Mystery solved there....
I got the lady"s name and email and told her that I would send her a copy of my December submission that bounced.  When I did, she told me that I had to use another new form which is even more complicated, because you have to add the actual Factura number, date, etc.  A couple of Facturas were very faint and almost impossible to read, but I did it and sent it in electronically again.  It bounced immediately, saying that 4 Facturas were either not real or there was a problem with the Factura number.  Since January 2015 I have never had a single problem or any bounced receipts and now it is nothing but grief.  So I bit the bullet and deleted the 4 Facturas totaling about $9 and re-submitted.  Of course it bounced again citing an unspecified error has occurred....   I sent all this back to the clerk with my conviction that the SRI is under instructions to frustrate the senior population to the point that everyone will stop claiming their refunds, and that their actions are contrary to this country's Constitution.  I just hate anything to do with dealing with Government.
Today I updated the information and photos to facilitate the sale of our house.
Also there was a disturbing article posted on FaceBook about how the Army is at great odds with President Correa and that this may hit the fan on Thursday Mar 17.  Apparently the Army will protest the Government's confiscation of their pension money, and the subsequent unpaid pensions, and it is to be called "Coup for Correa".  Maybe this time the Police will have to protect him from the Army.....  Big troubles ahead for Ecuador....
Tonight was a Fish Fry at Joe's Secret Garden preceded by their awesome Onion Rings, and followed by Grasshopper Pie.   Everyone gorged themselves on the deep-fried Corvina (Sea Bass).
Another good crowd, but a lot of no-shows tonight, probably because there was a tiny sprinkle and those fair-weather friends decided it was too cool.  Don't these dummies realize that Joe & Joseph have to buy and cook the food, hire the staff, etc, and those costs need to be re-couped.  Joe's can now take credit cards, so some folks will soon be asked for their credit card numbers when they try to register for another meal.  Nail those deadbeats Joe!
And we have no water again tonight.....
I hope you enjoy the photos.  That was the day's excitement,   Cheers, Al
