Dawn and I met my buddy Oswaldo at the San Sebas Cafe this morning.  We knew he was there by the 1980 Crown Victoria parked at the doorway, and it is the only car of this ilk in Cuenca.  Back in 2011-2012 Oswaldo had been landlord to friends and had worked in Toronto for about 20 years so his English comprehension was almost perfect and he helped us through some tight spots in the Coopera mess.  We have been friends for many years and have enjoyed many adventures together, and Dawn met him when she was here in 2016.  We have made a date to meet again next week.

We came back home and enjoyed the beautiful day of sunshine.

The 3 dogs here, Spike, Lucy and Maizie are so good, and like dogs everywhere, are very attached to their owners and wait at the window for their return from an outing.  I sure love being able to have the dogs around me.

Billy was out at a painting class and his project today was to paint from a photo of the Sparkling Violetear that I had photographed in his backyard.  His painting is not finished yet, but his talent is very evident.  Good job Billy!

The day was too nice to waste so I decided to make my first solo foray with the new Pixels bike.  I ran over to Monte Sinai Farmacia at the receommendation of a pharmacist up the street here trying to find nicotine pouches for Dawn which she uses to reduce her smoking habit. This was at least my 7th attempt at locating these and it is obvious that they are just not available in Ecuador.

So, the pharmacy just happened to be a block from MaryAnn's house, so I buzzed but had missed her.

But, across the street, I saw the familiar face of another photographer friend, Neal Adams, so we chatted for a bit and got caught up.

With all these stops I had ignored the sky which soon taught me a lesson by dropping more rain, which is always welcome, but not necessarily when you are on a motorbike....  I got pretty drenched by the time I returned home and I was glad that I did not have the Nikon strapped on me.

So we sat around the back patio watching the rain come down and the power went out like clockwork at 5pm.  Billy and Teresa joined us for a few drinks and we waited until the power came back on at 8pm.

None of us had eaten yet, and the plan had originally been for a waffle breakfast next morning at 9am because Dawn is a great cook and had all the ingredients  and batter made and ready, but we decided a 9pm breakfast was in order... and it was a great decision as we had light, fluffy waffles with strawberry or mora syrup, whipped cream, real strawberries and blueberries matched with crispy bacon...!!!!!  Compliments to the chef!

I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.
