My good wife decided that I should dye my hair and she got a packet of supposedly "light ash blond" haircolour. I waited until a few days before leaving, so that it might last through the trip.... She helped me apply it and made me wear a plastice bag on my head for 40 minutes, which I thought was way too long. I was worried when the mixture looked like royal blue when I went to shower but really did not expect blue hair (like Auntie Marie Jalbert) when I looked in the mirror.... In a panic, I wiped everything with hydrogen peroxide and showered and lathered 3 more times..... I could still see some blue, but not as bad as before.... Then I cut my hair really short again so it will grow out naturally quicker... Oh boy.......... No pics for a while.... Hats will be in vogue...
I got to watch both curling finals from Newfoundland. My ladies team, led by Rachel Homan took home the hardware. The men's team (Jacobs) lost on the last stone...
Today apparently was the first annual "Gelatina" celebration. Our little town is the center for Gelatina manufacture and sales! Gelatina translates to jelly, but is more like marshmallow, very sweet...
So a parade with dancers and the new Gelatina Queen came down our street and I got some nice pics.
In the evening, Roger and I went to the park to catch his girlfriend Sandra's daughter Angelica play clarinet in the Gelatina celebration. There was free gelatina for everyone. One group of old ladies next to me went up at least 7 times! I had a free drink of booze then I came home again.
I think that I have determined that my Nikon is not completely shutting off and therefore is draining the batteries in no time at all. So, I have taken to removing the battery when not in use and they seem to be lasting again.... Sheesh...
I hope you enjoy the pictures. That was the day’s excitement.
