I was up at 6:30am and Billy had the coffee going, so I was able to rush through my chores and get ready for my 4 appointments, stacked in tight time frames, typical of Type-A personalities.
The water in the casita was not getting warm, so cool spongebaths are the order of the day. Billy and Teresa have enough on their plates with a garden party tomorrow so I do not mention it. I am just so grateful to have such a beautiful place to lay my head.
My third trip to Dr Duane Connell felt good as he moved my bones into proper alignment. His receptionist is sweet Yesenia, who I have known from the previous chiropractor, also from Canada, Dr Rob Annis. Rob is apparently hovering around this area again.
I found the Alianza Buseta company near the Totems landmark and paid the $8 to get a front seat for the 4am trip on Jan 1 to the airport. Now I need to firm up a ride to Alianza at 3:30am with my 2 suitcases.
Then I went to have a lemonade with MaryAnn at her amazing home. It was so pleasing to hear that she and Gustavo have reviewed recent events and come to sensible understandings of each others needs and "signals". With a little cooperation and compromise, they could become a really good couple.
Then I rode the Pixels back home, parked it and plugged it in. So far, I cannot say that I am particularly pleased with the battery longevity.....
I walked up to the Palermo, formerly the tallest building in Cuenca. I had a 1pm meet time with an old Blog friend Jim Mola. He thought the meet time to be 2pm, so I had to wait for him a bit.
So I spoke to the security guard who said that he had worked there 13 years and he remembered many of my old friends who lived in the building, like Bard and Brenda Gale, and Chris and Bettye Petersen. It is still a lovely well-kept building, so I took a couple of shots while waiting.
Jim came and he said he enjoyed hamburgers too, so I took him to my new-found secret restaurant. We ordered 2 hamburgers each, french fries each, M+M ice creams each, and 3 small Sprite.... and the big bill was $9.90!!!
I had previously answered the phone at an innopportune time and arranged for a 3pm return call from my new financial source. Because it was a different person that called today from the UK, I was very wary. The return call never came so I had a much needed nap.
Right now, Cuenca is enjoying another welcome rain, courtesy of yours truly, having dragged the moisture from Colombia on my arrival! And the rolling blackouts have ceased for the holidays!
I hope you enjoy the pictures. That was the day’s excitement.
