Saturday July 16, 2023

The last 3 days have been horrible with dense smoke in the air from wildfires.  I am so fortunate not to be one of the people whose breathing gets affected by it.

Thursday, the one flood/heat lamp in the bathroom quit and now I have to wait for the building's handyman to supply and install a new one.

It was Prime Day Wednesday so I quickly ordered dryer balls, a special extension cord, and some 8x10" picture frames while my Prime account was still active.  I was shocked to get them all delivered by 1:30pm Thursday.

I had to call the Library to extend one book that was an inter-library loan as I await the book in the series before it.  They checked and I am next in line for it, but it is overdue... and the borrower is not responding.... boo hoo.

Niece Dawn came by for a visit and we went to Dollarama to pick up a few items, primarily a hand mirror for the bathroom, because I broke the previous one..  Does that mean 7 years bad luck?  Would I even notice??

We also caught some street performers in Churchill Square as we explored a bit.  It is always nice to get a visitor and get out on the town.

Today, I watched some Blue Jays baseball before watching My Stampeders take on the Roughriders.  What a crazy game!  Back and forth, and Calgary had it won with less than a minute to go, then had it lost on an interception, before getting in field goal range in the last 15 seconds to really win it...

The Bob and I went on our Gios to Whyte Avenue at 8pm to people-watch and take a few pictures, and one movie (too big to share here), of some action near us.  This could become a regular gig for me..  A few of the passersby do enjoy getting their picture taken, and one named Wynter got my email so I could send her copies.

We were there until almost midnight when it started to sprinkle so we came home.  The heavens opened at 12:45am and hopefully that will clear the smoke from the air.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.
