I tried an experiment in the settings for the Blog and put in my sister’s email address in a special section, and it seems to have worked….  So, if you are interested in getting the Blogs via email, simply send me an email to aljbourassa@gmail.com and I will add you to that list.  I won’t do that without your permission, and THANK YOU all for your patience and support.

Yesterday the wandering Canuck girls, the prodigal four, returned from the coast mid-afternoon so we gave them a short tour of the neighbourhood, had a local Ecuadorian meal, then watched my favourite movie, which only one of them had seen, "Love Actually", with popcorn.
This morning we were all up early and on our way downtown before 8:30am.  Since we missed the #15 by mere seconds, we re-arranged our schedule and took the #13 downtown instead, starting off at the San Francisco market where  several purchases of alpaca goods were made.
Then we went for the Desayuno Americano breakfast at the Industrial Ale House and that was a big hit and a great way to start the morning.  Next we made our way to Calle Larga and visited the Panama Hat Museum where the girls got a demonstration on the different steps in the making of a hat.
From there we continued up to see the interesting shops and buildings of La Condamine including my favourite statue of the Greased Pole.
Then it was a stop at the 10 de Agosto Mercado where they tried coconut juice and some chancho (pulled pork) and pork rind.
We got to stop in while mass was being performed at the Santuario Mariano, then the adjacent world-famous flower market before heading for the double-decker bus tour all the way up to the Mirador de Turi.
On our return we checked out the big cathedral before going over to Don Colon's for a very late lunch.
Then it was a quick cab ride over to the big Municipal Cemetery which really wowed the crowd with its size alone.
We caught a bus ride home and relaxed a few moments before the gals headed to the mall for a few items to make a special goodbye brunch tomorrow, while I stayed to process my photos.
Then it was a screening of the movie "Australia" which none of them had seen.
So the 3 gals leave tomorrow and it will be just Dawn and I once more trying to sell the house.
I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.
