Thursday May 26, 2016
About 14 bikes eventually showed up for the Herederos del Pasado ride at the Puente Roto although I was again the only one there (and I was late) at 7:35.
We even had 3 people riding Vespas from Medellin, Colombia join us and they handed out stickers while selling patches, keychains, and t-shirts to help finance their trip.  They are circling South America, stopping in every country.
We first rode up to Turi and had a long stop there.  It was a lovely, but cool, night to enjoy the tremendous view.
Then we rode into El Centro where the traffic is gridlocked with the Transvia construction, compounded by closed streets for the Corpus Cristi festival, which means booth after booth of teeth-rotting sweets.  Having a motocycleta meeans we get to bypass all the stopped cars and the police even let us park on a closed street 1/2 block from Parque Calderon.  We will be returning there tomorrow to see a gringo friend who will have a booth as well.
The last 3 weeks, Thursdays have been the only time that Toxic has been in action.  But since there is no action on the sale of the bike, I am happy to keep it and use it.
I hope you enjoy the photos.  That was the day's excitement,   Cheers, Al

A very foggy morning to start the day

Todos Santos is so picturesque

Sorry, can't resist this beauty

El Puente Roto (Broken Bridge) from above

Magnificently lit at night

A distant view of the Planetarium at Parque De La Madre

The doors are open

This is the interior of Todos Santos

Another view south to the Planetarium

I promise, last shot tonight of Todos Santos

Our President, Paul (with hat), with 3 visitors from Medellin, Colombia

The group keeps growing

Our VP stops by for a visit

Almost ready to go on our ride

The two Vespas touring South America

Three of the other regulars waiting to leave

A service in the church at Turi

We line up the bikes in front of the Turi church

You can see this church at night from almost anywhere

And the view of Cuenca from the Mirador de Turi is spectacular

This is a favourite stop for the group

Avenida Solano is the bright yellow strip

Later I might try to stitch these two photos together

Couldn't resist...

The Colombiana enjoying the view

This is such a pretty sight at night

A group shot (-2)

This is a good bunch to ride with

A little artistic licence applied

Avenida Solano seems to point right at Immaculate Conception cathedral

A lovely night in Cuenca

We are fortunate to live in this gorgeous city

The lineup...

Love this church at night

A family getting a portrait taken

A tight timed shot of Immaculate Conception

We parked close to City Hall

Another nice lineup of bikes

Not enough room, park on the sidewalk...

Heading to Parque Calderon to check out the sweets

Crowds of people around the park

Booths of sweets line the streets

We didn't lose anyone in the crowd

Sweet tooths are satisfied.
