Thursday April 28, 2016
As reported earlier, it was raining most of the night and the morning, but the weather system finally cleared out in the afternoon.  The rivers are really swollen and I would not be surprised if there was some flooding in some places.
There was a decent turnout for the Herederos de Cuenca ride in the evening.  First they had a meeting to round out the executive, choosing a Vice-President but obviously having trouble getting someone to step up to be Secretary.
We rode to the gas station on Solano then went down Remigio Crespo to Loja and into El Centro.  We moved along Cordero and on up to Cristo Rey.  Somebody allowed a honkin' huge apartment to be built in front of the church which blocks the tremendous view, both ways.  Then we continued up behind the Universidad Catolica de Cuenca where the views from the north hill are spectacular.  It is a shame that the main cathedral is not lit up very well at night, it would add so much to the beauty of the skyline.  Turi is still very visible far to the south.
I hope you enjoy the photos.  That was the day's excitement,   Cheers, Al
