I woke up Wednesday morning in the Radville Hotel much too early and all I could smell was cigarette smoke, to which I am quite allergic. Ughhhh. And I also realized that I had fouled up on the dates for the Gilmore Celebration of Life in Bengough, being the 19th and not the 16th... Silly me! And, I could not reach one of my cousins because of lousy Rogers phone service, and bad internet and wi-fi.
I had paid for 3 days but was willing to eat the 2 days to get the heck out of Dodge.... By 7:30am I had a mug of coffee from one of the breakfast places and I was on the road, ... having fully decided to head west to Calgary and High River. Traffic was light, the trip uneventful, and I bypassed Calgary to show up at my sister Leonie's place near Longview at 4:30pm.
I later snuck out to pay a quick visit to my friend Betty in Diamond Valley and was worried about the ominous huge thunderstorm cloud above the town, but it had more lightning than rain, strangely enough....
I came back and got my doggie-fix, playing with Dublainn, Leonie's black lab who enjoys my visits as much as I enjoy playing with that big puppy....
And I got to watch my Oilers take out the las Vegas Golden nights for the third straight overtime win, in Vegas, on the road! Score 1-0! Way to go Oilers! Now they get a well-deserved rest...
I had a good sleep and then a nice soup and carrot cake for lunch before heading north, 86 kms into Calgary.... I was astounded that my siblings live that far apart, yet so close.... I visited my oldest brother who looks so good, I am calling him Mr Timex, because he just keeps on ticking!!! We visited for 2.5 hours and I delivered the items from my brother Germain's family.
So, I managed to see 3 of my siblings this week and that makes me very, very happy...
Then, back on the road for another 3 hours to get home to Edmonton and unpack and do all this stuff....
I plan on sleeping in really good in the morning..........
Hugs to everyone.
I hope you enjoy the pictures. That was the day’s excitement.
