Monday October 21, 2024  UPDATED

Yesterday we halfheartedly waited for deliveries while we made many connections with old friends via WhatsApp.

Tom Thumb was cooperative and I got some fairly decent shots for you.

I have spent much time going through international property listing at https://www.viviun.com/ and saved a few for a friend that may wish to retire on a beach somewhere.  I went through over 4,000 listings and saved around 25 in a reasonable price range.  Some listings are obviously ones where people have listed for a ridiculous price just to see if anyone is dumb enough to bite....

Today, we await those same deliveries,.. the saddlebags for the Pixel Electric Moped from Amazon and the Air-conditioning unit from HomeCenter...  The first is definitely slated to arrive today, but we really crave the second...

The batteries that I had bought online for my Nikon D5600 continue to disappoint, being worse than the ones they replaced... Grrrrrrr.  So I have scoured online again and cannot find anyone who will deliver to Colombia, so I was forced to order on Amazon and send them to my niece who is slated to meet me in Ecuador for a few days.

We had a little nice rain the last 2 nights so the effect on the plants is really noticeable, with even a rosebush blooming.  We could use more rain, but it is hard to believe the forecasts of 32C with 50% rain almost every day.  The weather app on my phone says it is raining here now.... NOT!

With my Amazon order, the shipping cost was to be $7.62, but they offered a free month of Prime with free shipping so it only made sense....  That will also help while away some evenings here.

In talking to friends in Cuenca, they went through a prolonged drought and now have rotating electrical outages which are annoying.  Hope that BS is over before I get there...  Even my phone won't work without wi-fi access.....

UPDATE:  I watched all of season one of Two And A Half Men on Prime, then started some other spy series.

Amazon delivered the saddlebags and they fit perfectly, although there seems to be an abundance of straps and connectors.

I rode the Pixel and Cristina rode the Chappy over to visit with Carlos' family, mother Gilma, sister Carmen, and niece Angela and hubby Chucho and their two boys.  They are good people and always good to visit.  Now they are trying to talk me into driving them past the airport another hour to Santander (south) to allow Gilma to visit family....  Somebody will have to rent a car again, and that person will probably be me.....

Apparently niece Ana has work in Zarzal, north of here near Roldanillo so she is coming to spend the night here.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.
