Tuesday April 4, 2017
April 4 is generally a sad day, Today would be my Dad Horace's 115th birthday and I miss his quiet strength every single day. It is also the day of the passing of our stepdad Lucien about 5 years ago. Our mother was so lucky to have had such good husbands. RIP to both.
Most of the day was spent getting mentally and physically prepared for the resumption of our Oldies But Goodies Dance Club dances. We were again at Villa San Carlos and we had made this a free dance to our past supporters who were the only ones invited. Two friends helped out on this dance, Peter with the sound system, and George with the music.
We were hoping for about 100 people but only had about 50 people signed up. As usual, we had a few no-shows, but we had many surprise walk-ins so we probably had about 70 people show up during the evening.
Again, as usual, people have to get a little oiled up before they appreciate the music and get up to dance, then it was non-stop dancing and people had a really great time.
Again, THANK YOU to Peter and George for their great assistance. The plan is to hopefully resume this on a monthly basis.... We'll see....
I
hope you enjoy the photos. That was the day’s excitement.
Cheers,
Al
