Friday February 17, 2017 Evening
The stats say that 404 people viewed this Blog yesterday which is truly amazing to me, and I sometimes doubt the veracity of these numbers. If they are right, I am really flabbergasted...
This evening we were invited over to Jeanne's for a post-Chinese New Year party (and pre-election party?). Jeanne had attended a couple of our Oldies But Goodies dances so we wanted to reciprocate.
We picked up our friend Luz and tried to follow the hand-drawn map to the house. We encountered other people with the same problem. By now, we were walking and the others were circling in a cab. The house has no numbers and the map left out about 4 cross streets so it was amazing that the other folks found it and came back to tell us, otherwise we would have gone back home in frustration. We honestly would not have gone that direction. Anyway, all's well that ends well.
We were greeted by the bubbly Jeanne and entered the house to find a very large crowd, including many local Ecuadorians, so seating was at a premium. A large tablefull of snack food was being hungrily devoured until we were told that there was yet a main course to be served... Oops...
Jeanne is a gourmet cook, and she loves to entertain, so we were treated to a very extraordinary collection of dishes.
I was tasked to start off the dancing once the music was cranked up, and the lights were dimmed. Luckily I had no trouble finding some willing dancers right away and the party was on.
Thank you Jeanne for the great food, the fun guests, awesome food and music. We had fun.
