Watching the Olympics in Spanish can be tiresome but occasionally we do get to see some of our Canadian compatriots competing and it is great to see some of them begin to hit the podium. Go Canada Go. Go Ecuador Go. Go Colombia Go.

I made my usual Saturday trek to Joes' Secret Garden to experience the Chicken Piri Piri, which I guess is a Portuguese dish. The smoke created during the cooking process must really bother the neighbours, but the end result is a deliciously spicy meal topped off with a Pistachio Cake.

One of my tablemates arrived in a motorized wheelchair, a real oddity in Ecuador. They say that, so far, they have been able to navigate around reasonably well.
