Today is the last full day for Cristina in Cuenca so our friends Lotis and Mike invited us to go to La Parilla De Hector on the Autopista in the mid-afternoon. Oswaldo was also able to join us so we went to this huge restaurant that charbroils meats and had a feast of beef and pork.
The view from there is lovely but the downtown view is obstructed by two monster condos that dominate the south skyline. It was also a lovely sunny day so we enjoyed the ambiance of the place.
Following the meal Oswaldo invited us to his place for a beer and a couple of games of pool so we spent a lovely evening having fun and laughing.
Cristina is headed back to Colombia to be with her family and friends and her precious dogs. She has a better chance of finding meaningful work there with her family support and we wish her the absolute best and thank for for the delightful times that we have enjoyed together. She will be missed.
I hope you enjoy the photos. That was the day's excitement, Cheers, Al La Parilla De Hector is a place to go for good food |
It has a tremendous view to the northwest |
The place is spacious and not crowded |
It even appears to have some private areas |
They have a special section with a blower, just to heat the coals |
Lomo fino (filet mignon) in mustard sauce... Mmmmmmmm |
Chancho (pork ribs) was scrumptious too |
Cristina's last full day here |
Gonna miss that big smile and her good nature... |
Another shot of the view |
Skimpy view of El Centro |
Cristina posing |
I had 2 close games with Oswaldo and he won both |
This was Mike's first time shooting pool |
It was also a first for Lotis |
A magnificent sunset view at Oswaldo's |
Oswaldo has 2 very old books (he's a collector of antiques) |
The Book of Psalms is dated 1597 |
I am scared to touch them. They are over 400 years old... |
