The decision has been painfully made, the first bus ticket is purchased, and Cristina will sadly be returning to Colombia. There is just no work here in Cuenca for outsiders and she will at least have the support of family and friends back home. She is really hoping to be able to work with a veterinarian because of her deep devotion to animals. She will also be able to re-connect with her precious dogs that she misses so much.
Today we checked out maybe selling my car through the dealer that I bought it from, so that will probably happen next Tuesday.
In the evening we went to visit one of Cristina's friends, Maria Dolores, who also happens to work alongside my friend Oswaldo (this town is much too small). Her life has changed a lot also, as her daughter has come home with two children and a dog. It was delightful to see the puppy and the 1-year-old in action.
