My gosh, I had a very busy day today starting at 5am to get Cristina off to work before getting at all my usual email and photo work. I did laundry and made lunch before having a nap to tide me over for the rest of the day.
I took some shots of Deborah March's 2007 Toyota Land Cruiser to help her to sell it, but she is maybe having thoughts of taking it with her to Mexico at the end of the month. It has less than 100,000 kms and she is asking $22,000 which is at the low end of the going price for these so, if you are interested, please contact her at deborahmarch@gmail.com.
Next I waited at the Oro Verde Hotel for my buddy Rob to arrive from Chile and we wandered over to see Maite Duran at Gringo Visas who will help him navigate the maze of residency again. His last attempt got fouled up by the Coopera fiasco which forced Rob out of the country for a while. The grass wasn't greener in Chile so he is back to Ecuador, and likely Vilcabamba, as his forever home.
Next it was off to Barbie & John's B+B for a combination going away party for Kevin & Joanne, Canadians who are also heading off to Mexico in 3 days, and a birthday party for another John (also Canadian I think), aged 70, and Mike, aged 71. Barbequed ribs, BBQ chicken, shrimp dishes, salads, potato salad, lemon squares, birthday cake, and lots more ... what more could one ask for??? Lots of lovely people and even the rain held off so everyone could enjoy themselves.
I was having such a good time that I almost forgot that I had another stop on the way home to see my "buddy" Regina to get her information and keys. There is a trio of us that keep tabs on each other to make sure that we are all still alive and kicking every day. That was always one of my fears that I could be dead for a week or more and nobody would even know it. At least this way somebody checks up on me if there is no response to the morning emails.
Anyway, it has been a long and rewarding day, and tomorrow I can look forward to finalizing more details and working more on the music for my debut at the Oldies But Goodies Dance Club that opens up next week.
I hope you enjoy the photos. That was the day's excitement, Cheers, Al
