I have only had 3 hours sleep due to a recurring cough, and my camera never left the backpack, but I just had to share what an amazing day it has been so far.
First I was concerned about a darkening front tooth so I saw Dr Alan Woods (great guy) and he referred me to a root canal specialist named Francisco Heredia.   And I do not hesitate to call him a specialist because he is careful, honest, and darn good at what he does.  My one and only previous root canal was one of the most painful experiences of my life and I had sworn never to have another one.... but the recommendation was so high that I put my trust in him and it was not misplaced.  I never felt a thing...  And he gave me a prescription for pain killers for when the anesthetic wears off, and I took one as a preventative measure, but I think that I could have saved the $8....  It is now over six hours and I feel no pain at all.
Next I rushed home because a nice young lady named Laura had borrowed my Canon 18-55 kit lens for a trip to Macchu Picchu and she returned it in the same condition.  I don't mind lending things to people if they treat my property with respect and return everything in top shape.
Meanwhile I got a call from an Ecuadorian friend who had borrowed some money, (and left me with collateral security), that she was coming over to re-pay the loan.  That was certainly music to my ears and bank account.
I received a call that the repairs to my music machine were completed so I headed to El Centro to get it.  They showed me that the USB port had been replaced and was working well.  I even missed a heavy rainshower while I was on the bus.
When I got home I wandered over to my favourite seamstress' place to pick up my makeshift cover for my new leather office chair.  I had brought her a long towel to sew width-size pockets at both ends and elastic with buckles to hold the lower back portion.  I asked her how much,.. and she said $1.50...  I paid her double that because she always does me such good work.
It was being such a good day that I decided to stop at Monay Mall for some comfort food and spotted something in this gaming store that I had not noticed before, ... actual DVD's... and only for $1.00 each...  Once I had made sure that they all were in English (even the jackets were in English!) I walked out with another 16 movies for my collection, which I think stands at 719 now...
Then I went down to the food court and had a 3-piece KFC meal as my reward.
I am nodding off already but I don't want this great day to end....
That was the day's excitement,   Cheers, Al
