Lest we forget, remember the vets.
We had a real good rainstorm on Sunday then an absolute deluge Monday.  There must have been some serious damage because of the enormous volume of water that fell in so short a time.  Yesterday we were visiting the 4th floor of a multi-storey building during the downpour and, all-of-a sudden, water came seeping out of an office door into the center of the building!  Eventually a maintenance person came up and nonchalantly started mopping up....
This morning I noticed that all the big rocks had been forcibly moved back on the lawn across the road so I figured that the rumored paving was maybe going to begin soon.   Remember that they had actually put street signs on our alley/street and residents had come around with a petition that I also signed a couple of months back....  I was happy to hear of the possibilities since I am officially the only house that faces this way. Within an hour, a bobcat, a grader, and a gravel truck were hard at work digging our street down and hauling away lots of dirt.
My only hope is that they leave one end of the street open and that I am able to get my car out because I have an important function to attend tonight.
Across the road they have been working on several streets for over a month at least.  I sure hope it doesn't take that long for ours...
Hope you enjoy the photos.  That was the day's excitement,   Cheers, Al

This is the rainstorm on Sunday.  Monday was a deluge.

The rocks are moved, is paving beginning?

They named our 'street' a couple of months ago

They started digging up a couple of blocks west of us.

Big piles of dirt to haul away

Nothing happening at our end yet

Widening and paving would be so very nice

Ask and you shall receive...

The grader is cutting into the berm

The grader cuts down about 8" at least

The operator knows his job

Love the way they can make the wheels crooked

This is the mop-up guy

He piles the dirt at the corner to load the truck

They work in tandem very well

Seeing a new redhead on our block...
