I did a few plumbing repairs this morning then got a little cabin fever so I went for a drive south, through El Valle and just kept going until the road conditions told me to turn back.    The roads are so winding that a person losses their sense of direction up there but the sun told me that I was mostly going south and east.
The views of the El Valle area are breathtaking and this journey just accentuated this even more.
There is a mountain to the east that I call Table mountain because it totally flat on top.  Apparently the city wanted to put the airport up there but indigenous protests put a stop to that, as did the wind conditions, which made it unsuitable for safety reasons.  Over the last 3 years I have seen Table Mountain from many vantage points but today I felt that I was actually above it and could see the beautiful flat area up there.
And I was certain that I could see Challuabamba and also Azogues, dominated by the mountain with the statue of the Virgin on top.
Anyway, it was good to get out and put the car to some use and get some really fresh air.
Hope you enjoy the photos.  That was the day's excitement,   Cheers, Al

I'm assuming I was still in El Valle at this point

Spectacular views as I climb higher, Table Mountain very evident

This is another view, a little to the right

And this is the view to the left side

Getting higher, above Table Mountain

Table Mountain is pretty darn flat

Top left center is the mountain with the Virgin overlooking Azogues
