We send our condolences to the family of our brother-in-law Ted
Luszcz on his passing last night.
Thursday we had a nice little thunderstorm pass through. Some areas of the city got lots of lightning and hail apparently.
At noon today Hearts Of Gold was having a get-together at Fabiano’s
to bring people up to speed on the trials and tribulations of trying to run a
legal charity in this country. Colleen
and Sheryle and Natasha did a great job of explaining things. I am just sorry that I had to leave to pick
up my car from the mechanic before the garage closed.
Then tonight it was back at Joe’s Secret Garden
for their world-famous Southern Fried Chicken. The evening was going well until the local tax
Gestapo, the SRI, showed up with police and army personnel…. This is just so typical of Ecuadorians' lack of
respect for the time and property of others. Apparently some idiot complained that he never
got a tax receipt last week… and all he had to do was ask for it… I guess the jackboots are coming back
tomorrow morning…
