I talked myself into getting out of the house this evening and headed for Roux Restaurant for their Trivia Night. I was hoping to meet up with the same teammates from last week and two of the three showed up with another guest so we were good to go. Three of us are from Hearts Of Gold, so I had named our team HoG Heaven, get it?
Roux packs the place every Tuesday and certainly do well on the food and booze. While the acoustics are harsh and the place is exceptionally noisy, it is a fun time and the food is really good. The moderator asks four sets of ten trivia questions and at the end we play a form of Double Jeopardy, betting as many of our hard-earned points as we dare. We were only 2 points off the lead at the end. Since the final question is always a real toughie, we employed the same strategy as last week's winners and only bet 1 point on the final question. The question was "Name the 3 most popular historical figures portrayed in movies". Most teams got "Jesus", but few got "Abe Lincoln" or "Napoleon". Way to go, Team!!!
Anyway, we won some stuff, including drink tickets Hearts Of Gold donated for the BBQ on July 5th.... We pledged to drink the bottle of wine that we won at next Tuesday's competition.
