Today I had to get my hair trimmed, well before next weekend's Hearts Of Gold Barbeque and Barn Dance. Then I slept through most of 2 World Cup games before making my way to Joe's Secret Garden for a night of Oriental dishes.

Joe and Joseph had sworn never to do an Oriental night the one prior time they attempted it so I was eminently surprised that they were doing it again. Predictably, they were both again vowing that this was the last time ever because it is so much work.... They had been preparing since 8am and supper didn't get served until after 7pm.

It was great to see old friends Chris and Bettye again. They have moved to an enormous castle in Challuabamba, miles east of my place, so I rarely get to see them. I might get a chance to see their place on Sunday though, if things go right.

Another pleasant surprise was that Ed Nadeau from Montreal has made his way here, arriving today, to begin full-time residence in Cuenca. He is looking for a pet-friendly place near El Centro if possible.
