Tuesday we went into Tulua to discuss the type of fencing we would order to finish all the "pens" that Cristina has decided to construct in the backyard and the patio. As usual, because she got the information from her ex, Carlos, she had the wrong information about our needs.. Also, because we are not happy with the work done by Guillermo to this point, we made arrangements for the fencing manufacturer to send out his own crew to re-measure everything, see the actual construction site and to give us a quote to finish it all professionally and properly.
Then, as usual, we went and bought a bunch more junk at DollarCity, even though they are gradually increasing prices. Almost nothing is a dollar any more.
Later, I tried unsuccessfully to download the free Proton VPN on both the laptop and cel. I have a ProtonMail account from years before, when I had banking communication problems, but I don't use it, even though habit has me checking it every morning with the other four I do use...
Wednesday, we awoke to another "no water" day until 6pm even though it barely rained overnight or during the day here.... But it must have rained harder in the mountains and nearby, because the next town, BugaLaGrande experienced some flooding.
I spent most of the day looking for rural properties all over the country online. I found one that is close to what we would need with all our critters but it is out of our reach without selling our house first,.. plus we would again need "pens" made for all the critters, in an area where we have zero contractor contacts.
The fencing contractors came by, and I was impressed that they had a proper 50M tape measure to start, and a huge like-new generator in the back of their pickup... Most contractors come to a job without tools... They got a quick handle on the requirements, had all the measurements, and gave us a completed quote within hours, and they will start the job next week.
Apparently the ex, Carlos, will be doing the finishing of the 3 cement ramps now that Cristina has lost confidence in the last contractor from across the street who did a good job with the sump pump but not much else with Guillermo's substandard work.
Today, it is raining all day, so I took a few more shots of raindrops to stave off some boredom.
Cristina made Machata, a wonderful drink made from boiling and fermenting the outside shell of the pineapple, and blending it with mostly cane sugar and cinnamon. It is a real treat indeed.
Hugs to everyone.
I hope you enjoy the pictures. That was the day’s excitement.
