Last evening was the 29th anniversary of Patsy's passing. It is hard to believe that it has already been that long, and still so fresh in our memory.
I had tentative plans for today but rain, rain, rain all day almost scotched everything. I had given up on going to the 5pm Elks game so I ordered pizza at 4pm. It arrived at 4:15 and the rain had finally stopped. The pizza always comes with dessert, usually banana bread, but today was lemon pie...!! I felt so spoiled....
And the sun was bright and the sky returned to blue, so I dressed and jumped on the Gio and made it to the game on time. The game of the Elks against the Ottawa RedBlacks should have been a walkaway once we were up 22-3 in the first quarter, but no, we had to let them make a game of it.... The halftime show was cute, with 200 budding cheerleader apprentices covering the field.
And Donald and Tracey came over at halftime to find me and say hi. That was nice of them... Next game is next Sunday against BC.
And a man with his wife and daughter stopped near us, let me take their picture, then introduced himself as the grandson of Eskimo great Rollie Miles!!!
I left with about 10 minutes remaining to beat the crowd and caught the last 2 minutes on TV at home. We did win 39-33.
Tomorrow will be a nice day, so there are plans....
