In running through Facebook the last while, I kept coming across ads (which I automatically delete) for many things, but this ad for Topaz AI photo-editing kept catching my eye... So I clicked on it and checked it out and decided to buy it, because it was a "forever" purchase with a year of automatic updates.
I was actually at the checkout stage when I decided to click on the profile icon and it came up that I was already a member of Topaz!!! Surprise, surprise..... Even more surprising was that I had bought it last year, less 24 days!!!! But I had only occasionally used it as a PhotoShop plug-in, not using the full program, which I now downloaded, and it is a huge file.... and up-to-date!
I did a couple of test shots, changing my camera settings to return to taking RAW plus JPG shots. I was satisfied enough with my minor test result to go to the Elks vs BC Lions game ready to shoot... I started at the Tailgate Party and the theme today was dinosaurs, so it looked promising.
The Elks stunk the joint out with their sloppy play, so the cheerleaders, who also dressed in dinosaur costumes... were the main attraction today,... Yeah, so cool, although no big flips could be attempted in those bulky suits. They had a funny competition as well.
Then the real stars came out, just toddlers under 1 year, and they had a crawling contest of 15 yards! One little critter blew the field away heading for Daddy! That was definitely the highlight of the day!!
I left early and then began the torture of processing from RAW again, but the results are so totally worth it!!!!
Without getting into crazy details, a typical photo of mine at 6000 X 4000 pixels is 11.5MB as a JPG, 27.7MB as a RAW file, processed to a 100MB PNG file, re-processed in PhotoShop (better than using the plug-in), which then gets resized to a decent screen sized JPG (losing clarity again) 1304 X 870 pixels and roughly a tiny 300KB, not MB.... It is a tremendously slow process, so I culled the photos beforehand.
Just to show you the incredible difference in clarity I have found in using this Topaz AI program, I tried to show you the full-size PNG first shot, but Blogger will not allow anything over 100MB.
The photographer in me is reborn.... I really hope that you can detect the extra clarity in today's batch.....
I hope you enjoy the pictures. That was the day’s excitement.
