obvious that many (all?) of you are not receiving the subscription emails and it

Went to see an IESS doctor today for Cristina. IESS gave us an address about 6 blocks off,
and then only to find that the doctor had moved almost a year ago to another location another 6
blocks away. Only in Ecuador, you say?? Then it was back to the hospital for a
prescription and to arrange for a scan for a suspected hernia, and the wait is
1.5 months.
Then it was off to the vet to get Sparky’s stitched removed and to
get his vaccinations, because he is off to Obedience School in the morning for
a month! It is going to be so much
calmer here without this curious puppy underfoot all the time. Hopefully he will come back a changed dog
like Mariposa and Turi. Princesa is
pretty good so far, so she may not need training.
Then it is off to the dentist to fix my broken wisdom tooth, which
should be royally carrying a crown in a few days… Can’t do it in Canada for $350, that’s for
sure.
It just so happened that tonight is the grand opening of The
Broken Bridge Tavern with the owners Mark, Tom, Michael and Ray. So I went straight from the dentist’s office. Michael was born in Torquay, Saskatchewan, a
stone’s throw from my hometown. Ray and
Michael played some music and I tried their 6 oz burger and fries, served by
the lovely Venezuelan Vanessa. Opening
night jitters, growing pains, very small menu and limited drinks, and lots to
accomplish yet. They can only get
better.
This, of course is conveniently right next to the gathering for
the Thursday night Herederos run. The
main reason I went on the ride tonight was to make sure that I have the
directions right for a long ride on Sunday to the San Francisco Hydroelectric
plant. We are meeting at a gas station
south of the entrance to Banos, so presumably we are heading south. I have no idea where this hydroelectric plant
is, I can’t find it on Google.
We started with 11 bikes tonight and there were a couple of new
bikes, a lovely black 2016 Daytona scooter (same motor as Toxic) and a 500cc
Royal Enfield. We were again graced with
some lovely ladies on tonight’s ride which was to San Joaquin again. I left then early because they were heading
to eat Morochos which I do not like, and I wasn’t hungry anyway.
I hope you enjoy the photos. That was the day's
excitement, Cheers,
Al
