Finally! Princesa has come out of her doldrums after 5
days and is being an active dog again.
What a relief, after watching her mope for 5 days.
I spotted the following ad on GringoPost yesterday and it did not take much convincing to get Cristina to try out this new Colombian Cafe:
Grand opening of La Maria Empanada Cafe
The day has finally come. The grand opening of La Maria Empanada Café is
tomorrow, Saturday, July 16th. We are open Mon - Thurs from 8 AM – 8 PM and Fri-Sat from 8-10PM.
Located at Calle Larga 4-90, across from Todos Santos (formerly La Huerta Café).
We specialize in Colombian beef and chicken empanadas with our special spicy salsa (on the side). Crispy on the outside with a tender and succulent filing. You won't be able to eat just one. Also try our homemade Guacamole. It's incredibly delicious.
In addition, we will be serving the following:
Colombian Pan de Bano (Cheese Bread)
Panini Sandwiches
Fresh Fruit Juices
Desserts:
Homemade Cheese Cake
Homemade Banana, Lemon and Coconut Pound Cake
A large selection of hot beverages:
Cappuccino
Late
Mochaccino
Espresso
Coffee American w/o milk
Hot Chocolate

I do not often recommend restaurants, but this place had some of the best Colombian food I have ever had, even in Colombia. The empanadas with the spicy sauce and guacamole were absolutely delicious (we each had 4 of them!) plus we just had to try all 3 desserts available, ...again all winners.. Sylvia and the others were just wonderful to us. A great start to this beautiful sunny day.
