It was just time to get out of the house so we just picked a direction, east, and started driving. We would just drive to where our whims would direct us.
We decided to stop in Chaluabamba and happened to catch Mike and Lotis at home, and they were eager for adventure too, so they joined us and we continued east.
We saw Mount Cojitambo in the distance and decided that we would try to make it to the summit if the road was open.
Luck was with us and we were able to drive right to the top where we took a few shots north east over Azogues, where we caught a rainbow, and over to Biblian.
Of course we had to get photos of the Inca/Canari ruins and southwest over part of Cuenca which is visible.
We took a different road out trying to get to Biblian and got lost, traveling through Deleg and Ricaurte to get back to Chaluabamba. We slipped into Cuenca to eat, then came back and enjoyed a comedy on Mike & Lotis' home theatre set up on Blu-Ray and 60' screen. I even lasted 2 hours in an electric chair and lived to tell about it.
I hope you enjoy the photos. That was the day's excitement, Cheers, Al

We were headed for that pointy peak with the antennas on it. |

The road was fortunately open |

Here we are just below the Inca/Canari ruins, close to the summit |

This is the view over the cliff looking down on Cojitambo and Azogues |

Looking down on the ruins, Cuenca in the far distance |
|
Another view from nearer the summit |

A little zoomed in shot |

Again looking down over Cojitambo, with Azogues in the distance |

Lotis on the cliff edge with Azogues behind |

Looking over to Biblian |
|
Another shot of the ruins on our trek down |
|
The two fraidy-cats who wouldn't go to the summit |

Mike standing as close to the cliff as he would get |

Sunlight hitting the back of Azogues and the statue of the Virgin |

Then we caught a rainbow |

Another view back towards Cuenca |
