Wednesday was even worse with the garage noise, 2 floors below. And there is no way they will be done in 2 weeks, especially if we take into account the proper cure time for new cement. So we got out of Dodge and went for Wednesday Wings with Bob, only to find that the prices have been jacked up... Grrrrr...
Thursday and Friday morning, we were up early and had no hot water at the taps. The maintenance man found a problem with the timers set to shut down hot water in the wee hours and expects the problem to be solved at the latest on Monday.
Thursday I got a bright idea to avoid the scammers waking me up every day and it literally took just minutes to change my Fongo phone number to 587-883-6810.... Instant peace on earth.... This phone number is good for me when I go down south. It is VOIP phone which works anywhere with wi-fi. So I just call forward my regular phone to my Fongo phone when I am south... out of Canada.
Then I also braved making flight arrangements to go to Colombia, leaving Dec 15 and returning Mar 10... And I can bring a suitcase and carry-on both ways... I will be happy to see my wife and our doggies, cats, etc. but the heat will always be a problem. I plan to bring down an IPTV connection like I have here so I can access my channels there...
Today I made the changes to my banking and other sites which involve the Fongo phone number. Most of it was much easier than I anticipated.
Then I picked up Bob and took him to a lady from Rogers at Kingsway Mall that he has been dealing with to extricate himself from cable bills for cable that he asked to be disconnected ages ago. Apparently we were finally successful to get that monkey off his back.
Then we circled around the crazy construction areas to get to Gateway Powersports for Bob to look at a larger scooter again, but smaller than mine. He has a lady that will pay him full price for his Daymark very soon, so then the idea is to pay off his bank loan, then ask for a new loan for the new scooter. We found a Gio Tetris that will do Bob very nicely, and fit in his apartment... and it is on hold for Bob... Bob's present scooter is slow, and has no springs or shocks, so that plays havoc with his back and belly plumbing. He will be so much happier with the bigger scooter.
