Niece Ana seems to be spending the night here all week. I don't mind. I hardly see her and it is good for Cristina to have her visit.
We are always on the lookout for a house with fenced land in a cooler area. Campo Alegre is basically a monster suburb of our town with acreages. We found this one place online that rated a look-see. Cristina was positive that it is cooler there, just because it is in the country. Not really....
The place was almost at the very far end of Campo Alegre, after much road construction, decaying concrete roads and finally a rough dirt road which empties onto a sugar cane train road. As such, it doesn't even have an address, so deliveries would be impossible. And Cristina said it didn't have Natural Gas either.
The house itself was small, way too small for us, with an awful kitchen setup. It had 3 tiny bedrooms, the small master with an ensuite, an open kitchen-dining-living room setup with a social bathroom. A storage shed is attached outside.
The fencing was cheap construction cloth which would stop our dogs for about a minute. He was setting up a concrete parking pad, presumably carport style between two gorgeous palms. There was a chicken coop in the backyard.
The yard was good with many trees with fruit. The house itself was pre-fabricated, with thin composite walls, but I really liked the construction!! The roof was perfect! I am sure he said it was 8 years old but it did look brand new.
Asking price is about $88,000 Canadian, negotiable, which would be fair if it was for only a bachelor or a couple. The main problem is it is way too far away from any amenities on mostly crappy road. Too crappy for constant travel by our small-tired motorbikes/mopeds. Oh well, it was worth a look.
One of Cristina's cousins moved from Andalucia to Campo Alegre and we were supposed to visit today, but, as usual, the directions were sketchy and she didn't answer her phone... She called after we were home so apparently we are visiting tomorrow...
After I worked on the house photos, and while Cristina napped, I sat in the rocker on the patio with the Nikon, of course, so I have a few more photos to add in here.... It was very quiet as I "let sleeping dogs lie"...lol.
