Last night, Roger falled to say that there were singers in the central park so I went to have a look-see... A lovely younglady in a long red dress was walking by and people were taking her photo so I motioned to her and she posed automatically. Roger said she had sung previously and that she was really good! But the next 3 male singers were so off-key that my ears could take no more and I returned home.
I tried that background removal site on the young lady's photos and tried to enlarge them later artificially with limited success. I will get better with practice...
As a reward for our hard work of the past week, we went into La Herradura Mall (The Horseshoe) for a meal treat and a little shopping.
Roger had told me that his girlfriend/roommate Sandra's daughter Angelica was in a Battle of Symphony Bands and were supposed to play at 3pm. I got there on time only to find that every other band played before them, Grrrr so I was there until 7:30pm.. Sandra speaks pretty good English and I had forgotten that she was from Venezuela and came here 7 years ago.
Virtually every band was surprisingly good, except one where their horns drowned out everything else. The choice of music was not always great but the crowd of parents were very forgiving.
The Mayor was seated in front of us with a couple of other invited Mayors and it was a pleasure to watch him work the crowd with smiles and handshakes everywhere....
Angelica plays the clarinet and looked very competent in the front row.
Sandra asked me to take videos and photos, but I handed her my phone and let her take the videos she wanted, which I later sent to her on WhatsApp. I was taking my usual photos until they wanted group band photos with the Mayor, etc and suddenly I was thrust into the position of Official Photographer!!!! I was the only one there with a real camera! How is that for an unofficial visitor..!!!!!
Anyway, I am glad to have processed and sent the photos and videos. Now I am ready to hit the hay for sure....
