Wednesday, the internet connection was weak so we had to have 2 visits by a technician to solve the problem.  The main PC (which had Windows 11 which I hate) gets the proper 100+mbps speed.  My laptop on the wi-fi gets between 30 and 50 mbps, which is adequate.  It doesn't take a genius to know when things are running slow.

So, I spent a ton of time on Ancestry following a link given us by Roger Gagnon's niece and determined that Roger was a 7th cousin.  However, it appears that the link follows a wrong line so now I am busy trying to backtrack from Roger and his father Joseph.  I probably have a lot of correcting to do...  I now have 4525 people on my family tree....

Thursday, I did a little more correcting of Roger's line but need to wait for Ancestry to provide more hints to go backwards further up the line.

We were waiting for a young worker, Sergio, to come in the morning, but he showed up instead at 3pm and worked 3 hours, helping me cut wood for use in the new firepit that is on its way, and clipped some of the grass with a machete.

Then around 6:30pm we went to visit Aunt Nativa and her paraplegic grandson Victor Hugo.  It was a pleasant surprise to find Uncle Raimundo also visiting.  I snuck out and bought some beer to share.  Apparently, Victor is going with his separated parents to Spain on the 23rd!  We are so happy for this young man!

Then we had to rush home to open the garage for Ana by 8pm who is spending a few nights here again.  I was so beat, I went straight to bed...

Today, Sergio was here at 8am as promised and we got another good 3 hours of valuable work from him.  We FINALLY used up all the gravel on our patio, firstly making cement for finishing touches here and there.  The rest of the gravel was wisely used creating a better surface over the usually muddy areas.

Then Cristina and Sergio decided to start a fire to burn a lot of the dead plant life we have been collecting.  The darn wind kept changing directions but overall shouldn't have been too much of a bother to the neighbours.

The place diagonally across the street is sure undergoing a strange restoration.  They finished taking down the rest of the tiles and skinny supporting poles, and are now putting up heavier wood, not all very straight, above the mess below.  It will be interesting to see the way they re-do that roof!

The other day, Cristina had bought a new 60 foot water hose and today the stretchy 100 ft one I ordered from Amazon came.  The old ones were wrecked and embarrassing.  I am awaiting a proper holder for the larger hose.

We still haven't seen Carlos show up to finish that bedroom door!

Oh, BTW, I am not being allowed to see the finished Blog by Blogger now..!!!!!!!  This BS just started today and there is no way I can fix that other than contact Google.... and there is a fat chance of that being able to happen....   If anybody else has the same problem, email me.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.
