Yes, I can cook.... The first picture is a pair of grilled bacon and cheese sandwiches made by yours truly last night when the rain prevented Cristina from returning home from Gilma's on the Chappy....
Today, we went househunting again, this time with Cristina's "realtor" supposedly to see acreages in Campo Alegre.... The dummy brought us first to a place that was a BAR with and unfinished second floor that leaks onto the first floor, including the pool table!
The owner of that place took us to another hidden gem that happened to be owned by Maria de Los Angeles, a friend of animals known to Cristina. The house was small with several roof leaks, and a tiny swimming pool is just a money pit in my opinion. It had a big party area and a chicken coop, but access ends with a half mile of muddy road. A place without an address is not for me (I like to be able to order from Amazon, lol)......
We came back, had lunch and a nap and then had an appointment to see a large house on the south end of the main road, actually the first house on the left when you enter the town. I had originally spotted this advertised online and was intrigued by pictures of the unfinished 3-storey house.
Our eyes lit up when we went in with the spaciousness in spite of a bit of odd layout, having the garage open to the small kitchen... The garage can be walled off cheaply enough to keep the dogs honest. The backyard is big enough for the dogs too. With only a neighbour on the north side, the place has the cool breezes and the views that I want.
It has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 3 living/dining room spaces, 2 balconies and the third floor is open for all kinds of possibilities, including using the new fire pit....
Update - - - - - - Adding a video by Cristina
Needless to say, we really like the place and are working out what to offer, if we can figure out where to spring the money from... Essentially he is asking 350,000,000 pesos which is almost $112,000 Canadian today.
I never thought that I would thank Donald Trump for making the markets bullish and helping us out....
IF we did this, we would probably be claiming poverty and try to get it for 335,000,000 pesos or about $107,000 Canadian. Most of the needed work can be done over time....
This would mean owning 2 houses and we could rent our present house to someone we know, giving us a sustainable monthly income to live on along with everything else.
So another decision is also imminent as the pressure is on to move back here. Cristina is certain she can ameliorate the problems with the Colombian Immigration office along with facilitator Luz Dary and I could return to get a 3-year visa again, which is the number one problem for me here.
So, it is a lot to process and to make decisions on, but I have made so many changes in my life, what is another one at age 75....
Edmonton is OK, but I have found myself reading and watching sports to kill the time. A move down Okotoks way has been in the back of my mind since my visit in September. I miss the mountains and the blue skies....
But here, I have both, and my wife who truly looks after me, and the critters who I miss so much... So ideas are taking shape....
I hope you enjoy the pictures. That was the day’s excitement.
