No superstitions here so we indeed had an interesting day... The road crew returned for another baffling display of odd construction, starting with packing the road and then proceeding to dig it up... They placed cement bags on our sidewalk about every 10 feet so I was thinking that they would build us little concrete ramps to allow us to get into our garages... Nope, wrong again.... They spread the cement onto the roadway then proceeded to grade it across the road, then grade down further to make neat little dirt rows that they moved back and forth before making it flat again and wetting it down. Then it appears they oiled down the road so that I don't want to track all that sh*t into the garage... Only in Ecuador you say....
Then this afternoon it was off to Turi for Dot and Kathy's housewarming party where there were about 100 invited guests and lots of food and desserts and music by Brian Gary. The weather cooperated and we got reacquainted with a lot of folks that we haven't seen in a while.
They brought out the beanbag boards and we had a lot fun in the peanut gallery, especially making fun of our buddy Bard who was particularly inept at this particular game, yuk, yuk.
One of the guests was the property owner, Eduardo Vega, who is very famous in these parts for his art and ceramic works. His own residence is actually on the other side of the Turi church where he maintains a workshop.
All in all, it was a great time because the housewarming had another purpose, to be a small send-off to Dot and Kathy's lovely daughters who have been visiting for 2 weeks.
I hope you enjoy the photos. That was the day's excitement, Cheers, Al
