Friday was busy as I had a house-cleaner come in at 11am, but we had been notified that our water would be shut off from 10 until 1pm, so I had basins, sinks, bathtub and buckets full everywhere. 3 hours later, I had a clean house again without a speck of dust (for at least a minute)...
Then I received another $0.00 bill from CIBC for the Aventura card that I refused in February... I spent an hour waiting on the phone to reach the right department to get them to cancel the darn thing from my record and finally gave up... I had started talking to a rep in Guatemala named Fabiola..., yes, in Guatemala.... CIBC can't even let Canadians do the work... A pox on them for that.
I then worked hard to transfer as many files as I could to my old reliable external hard drive to prepare for ease of file transfer to the expected new computer. That took over 4 hours.....
Then, I just had to get out of the apartment for a while, so I met Bob and we finally settled on Marco's Famous Angus Burgers for supper, because road construction prevented us from getting to our desired destination. Marco's 1/4-pounder was much bigger than McDonald's! And their onion rings were second-best in the city (after A+W)...
So today, Happy 23rd Birthday to my grandson Tyson!!!!
I prepared and went by Gio to see the Edmonton Elks play the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (who have one of my favourite quarterbacks, Bo-Levi Mitchell). And today was Armed Forced Recognition Day at the stadium, so I was waiting outside at the north end to capture the flyover by the Air Force before kickoff. I got 4 shots as you can see below...
By the time I made it to my seat (delayed because a Costco tent booth had overtaken my parking spot, but they moved it out to let me in) Hamilton had already scored a touchdown on the opening kickoff.... Both teams marched the ball excitingly well in the first quarter and were tied 14-14. Then both had problems and it was 21-21 near the end of the third quarter when a lightning strike within 10 miles near Beaumont (new rule) forced stoppage of the game. If the stoppage lingered over an hour, the game would be called a tie.... So I quickly left and roared home, just parking my Gio as the heavens opened briefly... I just found out that the final score was Hamilton winning 28-24...
Then I cleaned windows after the rain and re-installed screens.
Now I am pooped.....
I hope you enjoy the pictures. That was the day’s excitement.
