I did not venture far today, ...a day of rest...  I walked to the bank and noted that the Tomebamba is about as low as I've ever seen it.
After the bank I checked out the adjacent hill where Jorge Beltran said he may build his next spec home.  There is a big open space there and probably room for 6 homes so I wasn't sure which lot he was talking about.  Regardless, I would not be interested there.  The location is much too noisy, has constant traffic in front, and the view is pretty mundane in the daytime.
Below Monay Shopping Mall is a hardware store where they have been building this huge building to the rear.   I talked to my hardware guy who speaks good English only to find out it is not his, he just works at the hardware store.   The building at the back has underground parking and a huge space with a mezzanine that is earmarked to be a convention center for 300 patrons.   I have a name earmarked for this place - "The Hideaway"!  They hope to rent it to an operator for $2,000 a month.
As I was crossing the river again I spotted two fishermen trying their luck.  The older fellow caught 3 fish with his second cast, the one I photographed...
And I was trying some different setting early this morning to catch a backlit Tom Thumb, but still haven't got the shot I want...   This is a work in progress....
Hope you enjoy the photos.  That was the day's excitement,   Cheers, Al

It looks like five flowered thumbs...

Jorge wants to build somewhere up this road

The road is pretty busy and it is noisy around here

There seems to be room for about 6-8 homes on this hill

My gosh, only 26 days left...

The construction of the building behind is almost a secret

This is to be a convention center.  Construction cost $180,000

The Rio T is really low right now

And a one,... and a two,

and out goes the net

They are very experienced at this

He caught 3 trout on this cast!

The young fella was helping out too

Nice technique

It is amazing how it opens up so wide

They must have a great combination of weights on the edges.

Tom Thumb didn't have any competition today

It takes a lot of waiting and battery power to get these

With the sun behind him we are assured of sunlit wings

He's a bit of a ham already anyway

but he is a charmer.

The way they use their wings and tail feathers is amazing

and they hover so effortlessly...
