OMG, I had a rough night and only got maybe 4 hours sleep and the feeling on my right side seems to have backslid.  My shoulders hurt like crazy as well so I was not crazy about going to physio but I did anyway.  Diego listened to my plight and restricted my exercises to the arms before giving me a short massage.  When I walk it seems to be easier on me if I keep up a quicker pace.
We had a visitor for lunch, Gustavo, my rescuer from the mountain.  More and more I realize how much he saved me on that mountainside.  I would never undertake such a ride without someone like him beside me.
The next order of business was to go to the hospital at 3:30 to get my stitches out.  Around 4:30 we were told that the surgeon was in emergency surgery so they gave us another appointment next Tuesday in the early AM.  Another Gringo, Bruce, was waiting there in the same situation.
Christian and Ana arrived yesterday in Montanita, changed hotels, but must have gotten bored easily because they decided to switch to Salinas today.  Why not?  They get to see more of our beautiful country this way.
I have not taken any photos today but am including some photos taken by Christian with his phone over the last couple of days.
I hope you enjoy the photos.  That was the day's excitement.   Cheers, Al

Ana and Christian left for Montanita this morning and decided on a different hotel upon arrival, to one in the heart of the action.  We hope it works out for them.
Tried to get caught up on RedBubble this morning with all the comments, faves and features of my photos for sale, and was successful.  I actually sold a LOT in December on RB which has really rebounded from a couple of years ago.  Now it is Fine Art America that is not doing much.
Then I hurriedly had to get ready to walk alone to physio today.  I asked my guy, Diego, if there was the possibility of getting massages and/or electronic stimulus at IESS.  He discounted the effectiveness of electric shocks in my case and off I went quickly through my exercises.  I was amazed at how much better my balance is than before.  However my shoulders started aching badly on the stationary bike so I cheated a little on breaks.  Then I was really surprised when Diego pulled me into a side room, removed my shirt and gave me a shoulder massage.  I could really get used to that because the shoulders are aching regularly again.
Next our buddy Oswaldo came by and we went to the next block to a new restaurant that is classy and serves a great almuerzo for $2.75.  He also took back the walker because I have no need for it any more.
Then Cristina decided she wanted to go shopping at Rotary Plaza, the main woodworkers and craft corner.  She decided we could go by BoneShaker (buses with no shocks) so I gave it a try.  My first time on a bus since November.  That first big step is a killer and my legs buckled momentarily but we managed to survive the ordeal.  I just wanted to make sure that I was never the last person debarking.  Too many drivers take off before the person has both feet on the ground and I don't want to add to my injuries.
We caught the #50 to within a block of the Plaza and decided that I would just sit on a bench in the sun while she ran her errands.  Following a woman shopping is not high on my list of fun things to do, injured or not.  Hopefully I won't find myself sunburnt tomorrow.  Eventually she wandered back and had an ice cream while we missed two #50's going back, so we had to stand an extra 15 minutes at the stop for the next one.  We made it home without incident, but that is another hurdle overcome and another notch on the old belt.
Tomorrow I get the stitches out of my neck...
I hope you enjoy the photos.  That was the day's excitement.   Cheers, Al

I am always the last to know the plans here.  Today I find out that Ana & Christian are going to leave in the morning to go for 2 days of fun in Montanita.  So, off we went to the bus station to buy tickets to Guayaquil for them.
Then we went to Mall de Rio to check out Smartphones because my 2-year-old Samsung is dying and I have to get current with everyone else with access to WhatsApp, etc.  I had spent the morning researching the best phones and Christian confirmed that the Motorola Moto G4+ was the best buy (he has the G3).  However there were no such phones to be found here.  Also trying to start our chosen $20 Claro plan with my old phone, which apparently would not work properly, was going to be a waste of money, so I ended up just recharging my Movistar for now.
When I got home, the first thing I did was get Christian to help me fire up Toxic and Buzzer (which had to be kick-started...).   Then, I ordered the Moto G4+ to be delivered to my niece-in-law in Calgary who is determined to move to Ecuador near the end of January.  I had already ordered a couple of camera batteries and some magnetic bracelets for muling.
Photos are right from the Lumix, just re-sized.
I hope you enjoy the photos.  That was the day's excitement.   Cheers, Al
