Sunday December 28, 2025

Last night, I could not stay awake until 1am to watch our Oilers squander a game against our archrivals, the Calgary Flames..  I am glad I did not stay up for the third period because the score remained unchanged anyway.

Cristina and I both got cleaned up for travel today.  And I went and bought a regulation helmet to permit me highway travel on the new eScooter.   It is decidedly different than the one we bought last year.

I left at 1pm for the outskirts of Tulua, traveling in the emergency lane without incident all the way, supposedly at 38 kph.  Going the 9 kms at that speed seemed like a long time, but it was relaxing in the sun and the breeze.  Ignoring the motorcycles and heavy trucks at your shoulder takes concentration..

Cristina was going with Adiela, Sofia and Lina to visit relatives in Roldanillo in the car.  I didn't want to go with 5 in the car.

My trip to visit Wolf and Fabiola was totally worth it.  They have a view so reminiscent of my dream home in Okotoks, high on a hill, with a magnificent view of the mountains....  We sat in the shade, drank Pepsis and got caught up on a lot of things.

Son-in-law Alex lives in the middle floor of the 3-storey and he stopped up to visit for a bit too.  Alex is our dealer for the 2 eScooters.

We also WhatsApped with our mutual buddy, Igor Djokovic, who is presently back at his home in Thailand....  He might make it this way before I leave, but unlikely...  He has a great travel Blog, seeing the world's backroads from a motorcycle with superb photography...   This is well worth a look when you have time... https://www.ijustroam.com/travel.html

So, because Colombia has the world's largest variety of bird species (https://worldostats.com/country-stats/birds-species-count-by-country/) I do give my D5600 a workout.  Some day I will drag along the P1100.  I would have had greater close-ups with no problems today of the birds in place...  And I missed so many zipping past overhead.  I am still kicking myself for missing a gorgeous Heron.

I stopped for a brief visit to Christian's decorated mausoleum space.  I still can't believe he is gone for over 8 years...

Wolf and Fabiola want to invite us for New Year's Eve (my Birthday Eve) but I asked them to coordinate with Cristina.  I don't imagine that we want to be out after dark when the fireworks begin in earnest to drive our animals crazy...  I know that I would rather be here at that time to comfort the animals...

I am so thankful for the IPTV being here so I can watch sports, etc, same as I did in Canada.  The Canadian Junior team is sadly disappointing when many people figure they should be a powerhouse, on paper anyway...

I guess I will be watching the Olympics from here in February....

I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.
