My little buddy, Tom Thumb, was visiting me in the bright sunshine and I managed to get one half-decent shot out of several attempts before my battery died.

Tonight was a sort of going-away party at our friend Teresa's.  Her cousin Lynda has been visiting for 3 months and is leaving on Sunday.  The two dogs, Spike & Lucy, kept everyone entertained.  Lucy is quite hyper with guests and was jumping, licking chins and ears, and causing a few food and drink disruptions.

One of the guests was torch-singer Umberto Ballone (who sang at the Hearts Of Gold Christmas Gala) and he thoroughly entertained everyone with his amazing voice and selection of love songs.   I backed away after his first love song was to the male dog, Spike, lol.   Umberto was also instrumental in hooking up a Bluetooth speaker so we could hear music selections better.

Sorry that I can't remember all the names.....  I never could...

Bon voyage Lynda.  Hopefully we will see you again next year.

I had many plans today changed when the phone rang at 7:30am and my maid Monica was asking if she could come to clean today.   Nothing was urgent so I said OK.   Everything was going well until a water pail, that I had tried to repair on the cheap, burst open and sent water cascading down to the main floor.  Oh well we laughed, it all needed a second cleaning anyway...

I later managed to sneak downtown to the Carolina Bookstore to exchange a couple of spy novels before heading over to see Mike Hamilton's photography exhibit a couple of blocks away.  Mike is a superb photographer, so if you want to see some of his marvellous work over the next couple of days, pop by 4-32 Calle Larga just east of Todos Santos.  Mike and his wife Cody are two of the sweetest people in Cuenca and good supporters of charitable causes.  It was cool to see how his exhibit drew a lot of other artists and photographers to come and enjoy his work.

My friends Mark & Karen were also there and we headed to my place to eat my leftover tourtierre from Christmas.  I honestly believe that tourtierre gets better with every re-heating....

The promised roadwork today was only about 1/2 hour of roller packing and one spray of oily water.  I am not impressed with all the uncertainty.

This morning I had to go to the office of Dr. Tarquino Orellana to add my name to about 30 others to sue the Government to get the full return of the balance of our savings from liquidation of the Coopera Credit Union.  We are very confident that the Government corruption can't keep dodging the Constitutional challenges.  

One judge has already resigned in protest of Government interference in the Coopera case so it is evident that the truth will eventually be told.  I am certain that the Government will fold quickly to avoid this lawsuit because the corruption reaches to the very top and could very possibly topple the reigning Government.  While the present Government has done many great things while in power, their corruption and arrogance on so many issues will come to haunt them.  While we have no interest in bringing down the Government, we do want them to realize their abuses of power and to make amends.

I was also surprised today to see the City road crews  back on our street.  They actually rang my bell to move my car out of their way and they said they would be working for 2 days here...  They were finished quite early today so we will see what transpires tomorrow.

The Gossman's organized an intimate Super Bowl party, dominated by Seattle Seahawks fans.  The food served was amazing, especially the Southern Pecan Cake....

Good people, great food, great atmosphere, and exciting game made the afternoon a delight.

The only spoiler was the absolutely idiotic play by the Seahawks to give away the game with only seconds to go.  Either the coach or the quarterback won't be getting that big raise they were expecting....

Yes, I know.   There are supposed to be photos here of Joe's Secret Garden for their Chicken & Shrimp Fricassee night.   However..... They were closed when I arrived, and nothing was set up for the meal.

This is the fifth time this has happened over the last 2 years and this is very upsetting to me.  I always set aside the complete Saturday evening to do this work and come clear across the city to perform my duties.  Because I am not actually noted on the reservations list, they do not remember to let me know when they cancel an event.   

Therefore..... I may return to Joe's as a regular guest on occasion, but I will not be shooting the photos at Joe's any longer.
