Last evening, we treated ourselves a couple of blocks away at Hamburgo with their cheapest $7 burger which is enough for a meal, even for me.

We came home and TV was a bit boring so I went back to the Outlander series to catch up a little.  I enjoy it, but the plot twists and turns get a little convoluted at times.  How many times can a person get knifed, shot, beaten, and lost, and presumed dead???

Today, I got up at 1pm after sleeping 13 hours.  The dogs were really quiet because of a steady rain which kept the idiots from firing off fireworks all night, as they often do.  The downside of a good rain is that it overruns the water treatment plant and the water is shut off for hours.

It rained all day and I went out back with the D5600 to see about catching Tom Thumb who seems to love rainy weather.  Today he had a rival who was quite yellow.  My photo is not good enough for Merlin to identify it unfortunately.  I was surprised to get decent photos of Tom Thumb on flash mode with a slow shutter speed...

A very quiet day here.   Merry Christmas everyone!!!!

Last night, I was up late to watch the Oiler game against Calgary and it was nice to see them showing some of the power they possess when they want to play...

One thing I was looking for was the Canadian Tire commercial with the Moose....  I just love that commercial and did not catch the long version, but managed the two shots below....

 Celebrating Christmas here is just special food and visits to change batteries in the lights at Christian's grave.  It is hard to believe that he has been gone 8 years already and the grief remains strong.  Grief is said to be just love with no place to go....  So true...

Today, I was experimenting again with the P1100 to catch the birds and it does a good job, but I only have seconds to try to get it right to catch Tom Thumb.  It still needs more work but hopefully I will get there...  Today, I tried the "Pet" setting on manual focus......  I cleaned and refilled his feeder.  He stayed mostly behind the feeder as I tried to shoot.  A person needs a lot of patience....

This time of year is tough for our 16 dogs and 3 cats, because so many people think it is cool to launch fireworks and bangers at all hours.   At least 4 of them cower and shiver in fright and we keep the close to us in the bedroom where they feel safer.  All day, we are running my music fairly loud as a buffer too.

It is, as usual, fairly hot, hitting the 30's every day but I am coping better every day.
