Thursday night, I burned another pot of water and actually took an SOS pad to it, so it is basically ruined and will only be used to boil water from now on. I went online and found a reasonable 5L T-Fal pot with a clear lid at WalMart and they will deliver it Tuesday.
Friday was nice enough so I broke out the Gio from hibernation and rode it to the Library to exchange books. The Gio still turns a lot heads and it is so much fun to be able to ride it again. The batteries need to be "exercised" or they will go flat, and so far, so good.
Canada lost the semi-final 7-4 to Scotland and, on Sunday trounced China 10-2 in the Bronze medal game at the Men's World Curling Championship. Scotland took the Gold and Switzerland the Silver. It was fabulous curling all week.
The temperature climbed to a balmy 20C today so there was no way I was staying inside. I called Bob and picked him up in the Regal and we went first to look at simple scooters that he can fit in his new apartment. A smaller turning radius is a must for that, and the new one costs $2,000, so there is hardly any reason to spend $500- $1,000 on a questionable used one..
Whyte Avenue was busy with flag-waving crowds of Palestinian and Ukrainian suporters and nobody was wearing jackets or sweaters.
So we found a place to park nearby, without meters, and went to our old haunt to listen to Leo Martinez at the Blues On Whyte at the Commercial Hotel. Leo was late arriving and kidded us about not being there on our scooters. We had not graced their doors for months!
Hunger set in, so we went to the corner and had beef nachos at Hudson's Pub. We both love nachos, we were famished, so the big platter was emptied really quickly.
I dropped Bob off, came home, saw the clock read 6:16pm and the sun was still ablaze and the temp was still 19C... It was too nice to stay inside so I jumped on the Gio and went cruising around the Legislature building. I am so fortunate to live just a few blocks away from the lovely grounds.... And I met another stroller named Adelisa, who works for 211 Alberta which gives non-emergency support to people in need. We had a nice chat while enjoying the sunshine. https://ab.211.ca/
Now, I am back inside wishing that the sun would have been available for several more hours.... But the whole week is to be springlike so we will enjoy more of the outdoors for sure.
I hope you enjoy the pictures. Blogger, the last few times, has made it a real chore to try to upload my photos in the right order.....
That was the day’s excitement.
