Playing card games and napping sure helps the time go by as the outside temperatures hover around 0C.
Lou and Yvette were being treated to a Christmas present reservation by daughter Shari and hubby George at a tiny, but fancy, exclusive Italian restaurant called The Valley in nearby St Catherine's.
The decor is dominated by a flagstone firplace and an oversized print of the Mona Lisa. They have at last 3 seatings and are fully booked over these hoildays.
When the appetizers start in the $20s, and the main courses up are to the $50s, expectations are high.... We did a lot of plate sharing and the meals were well presented, if smaller than I expected, but nobody went away hungry. I had an eggplant meal with penne and it was very good.
We were served most amiably by a gorgeous lady named Eden with flame-coloured hair, and most of us topped the meal with dessert, and my choice was pecan pie... Then they served us a complimentary Limoncito as we prepared to leave. Replacement diners for our table were already waiting at the door.
Because I was the fifth wheel at this gift celebration, I made sure to take care of my own bill. It certainly was a nice capper for the holiday season and I was happy to have been invited along.
I hope you enjoy the pictures. That was the day’s excitement.
