Today was a bit of a mixed bag.   I started off by sitting for over 4 hours in the Immigration office with a friend applying for the new Mercosur visa.  Then it was a quick 10 minutes inside the office and it appears to be a done deal.
Next it was a budding Coopera demonstration in front of the Mayor's office.  There is always some interesting art in the Mayor's office and today was no exception, with some volcanic art on display.
A few gringos we met seemed certain that President Correa was making an appearance today but the Ecuadorians said he wasn't going to show up.  Several liquidated Credit Unions were to combine in a show of force but the word never got out very well, especially to the gringos.  By the time they were getting organized I had to leave anyway.
We made a quick pass by the Immaculate Conception Cathedral then were surprised by mounted riot police outside.  I thought the head protection for the horses was a little comical....
We had to stop by a Panama Hat shop to collect some money, then spend some.
Now I am going to crash early so I can get up early and cram for my Driver's Licence tests tomorrow.
Hope you enjoy the photos.  That was the day's excitement,   Cheers, Al

Morning view of Todos Santos

Volcanic art is very eye-catching

Gotta love the lava-like colours and action

Spectacular, yes?

3 signs being put up on 3 corners for a Coopera protest

This is #1

This is #2

This is #3

Ok, they added a fourth.....

City Hall is a very impressive building

The police didn't like that they blocked the entrance with signs

Pleading the case that we are citizens too..

The sign had to be moved...

Just sunlight bathing the Cathedral

This caught my eye today

Riot cops on horseback waiting for the light to change

The light changed so they moved up Benigno Malo

Face shields and nose guards for the horses

Isn't this pretty?

Talking business with the owner Tania.

My lovely hat model
