A very busy and fun day today began with a Cultural Fusion celebration at San Sebastian Square. The Chamber Of Commerce was represented, as well as GringoTree, and several city agencies. The Mayor, Senor Cabrera, was on hand to visit with everyone and have some photo ops. Brian Gary's band, Rubber Biscuit, was providing entertainment from the stage. They had many tents so folks could escape from the blazing noon sun.
There was a wedding in the church which I had to investigate and found out that it was related to the family of Rosana Malo from Trebol Roses. The bride and groom looked so vibrant and so very happy.
After an almuerzo downtown with Luz and Miguel I made my way to a penthouse party at Bard & Brenda Gale's suite in the tallest building in Cuenca. Magnificent views and beautiful, fun people made this a genuinely fun event. They had catering and bar service from Mike, Abby, & Lisa from Roux, and live entertainment from the Musical Nomads. The event also was a fundraiser for Hearts Of Gold and everyone was in a generous mood. I really didn't want to leave but, social butterfly that I am, I have another party to attend further east.
Panos was inaugurating his new apartment with some delicious food and drink for a select small gathering. Lively conversation and many comical jabs punctuated these festivities. Panos is anti-photo at events so, sorry, I have nothing to show you.
Hope you enjoy the photos. That was the day's excitement, Cheers, Al
