Friday December 13 , 2013
Well, Friday the 13th didn't stop anyone from having parties. I was sorry that circumstances precluded me from attending Tamra & Ron's going-away party downtown. Sorry to see this fine volunteer couple leave Cuenca.
After some last-minute shopping for buns and ice, I made it to the Hearts Of Gold wrap-up BBQ party at Sheryle & Richard's new place. That is quite a huge house they occupy! We had a great meal and a few pops, and we signed Thank You cards for the prize donors to our Gala last week.
Then I still had to sneak over to Mark & Karen's second annual Christmas Party at their condo. How they managed to get that party together after just unloading a container from Canada I will never know. Luckily they hired Elizabeth from Joe's Secret Garden staff to do most of the serving so they were more able to enjoy the evening themselves. Many neighbours and bridge players were in attendance and everyone was enjoying themselves. It was raining sporadically but they had a gazebo tent on the terrace to give extra space. Apparently there was an earthquake at the time too, but we didn't feel anything....
Hope you enjoy the photos. That was the day's excitement, Cheers, Al
