I realized that I only have a month before heading South, so I got off my butt, and started gathering my goodies and doing preparations.
With my plan to get a new IPTV receiver for myself here in Edmonon, that allows me to take my existing set to Cristina. This necessitates preparing instructions (in Spanish) for operating the system when I am not around. Cristina admits to not being very technically savvy. After a year on the system, I do things without thinking.
Monday and today, I began arranging for cash to be taken from my sad investments and sent to my USD account. I was pleasantly surprised that I have a decent chunk of the non-TFSA account that I can move without affecting my income tax total income.... This lets me breathe a sigh of relief with my tentative upcoming plans once I get to Colombia.
I have reached out to my bank to have physical cash ready for travel in $USD.
Last evening, the nice volunteer from St Vincent de Paul Charity came by to pick up my old office chair and computer monitor. That is another bother off my mind.
And, somewhere around midnight I sent a nice donation to the Edmonton Humane Society.
Around the same time, I spotted my delivery notice of my second Temu order. So now I have my Christmas present to give to Don, who was nicknamed Popeye by Bob, because he is always outside smoking his pipe... Bob and Don are on the outs again, both proud and stubborn, unfortunately.
Also in the mailbox was my invitation to my Grandson's wedding, which is set for Jan 31 in Calgary. Sadly, I had to inform them that the date is in the middle of my sojourn in Colombia so I was forced to send my regrets. The handwriting I happily recognized as my daughter's. She has such lovely script, just like her mother Patsy.
