Monday, the water was off again for another 3 hours due to suite renovations, so I made a quick trip to the Library to pick up the latest Mark Greaney book, "Midnight Black" in large print.
Our friend Don had found a large salad on sale so I did the preparations my way and he came down to split it.
Tuesday I spent a lot of time on Temu, ordering a new ergonomic mesh office chair that I have been planning for months! It was better than 1/2 price of anything similar on sale at Staples, so I finally went for it. I ordered some Christmas presents as well for Cristina and some friends.
Wednesday, I went to try to help Bob with a flat tire on his Gio, even running back home for more tools, but I did not have a socket big enough to do the task. He will get our friend Bernie, the former mechanic, to do the honours.
Thursday, we began actual preparations for having a "photo booth" at the Tenant Appreciation gathering in 2 weeks. Like the silly fool that I am, I had volunteered to do the photography and the printing. The Building Manager, Roch, wanted our set-up to be in the dining area but the lighting and shadows were too bad when I took some test shots, so Lorraine was to talk to Roch that we had a better location with a nice brick background in the "puzzle room" near the door.
At 5:30 I was glued to the TV to watch Canada vs Ecuador in "World Friendlies" soccer match. Canada got short-handed early and the game was hardly friendly, ending in a 0-0 draw. Canada has been having a horrible time, scoring nothing in the last four games...
This morning, I was shocked to see that Temu said that one of my 3 parcels had been delivered by Canada Post! There was nothing at my door, or the main door, or in my mailbox, so I checked the tracking with Canada Post and they started a "ticket" to find my parcel. Then, minutes later, I get a notification from Temu that they had given me a wrong tracking number, and my package is still in Toronto.... so I had to advise Canada Post to cancel the ticket.... What a way to waste the morning....!!!
At 1pm I drove my Elks seatmate, Lorraine, to a nearby bar named Teddy's who had possession of her giant Teddy bear named Tie-Dye. We had to contact the owner while there, but they did manage to deliver the bear to us to bring home.
Tie-Dye is to be used as a prop for the "photo booth" in 2 weeks. The big guy is badly flopped over so we found a way to hang him from the wall so people can just stand next to him so we can snap two quick pictures, and move on to the next person. We showed the Manager our proposed shooting spot and he agreed to help us out by having the maintenance man, Yves, to put an extra wall anchor in the brick wall to hang Tie-Dye in the right place. Then I showed Yves where we needed the wall anchor.
Roch was worried about congestion near the doorway, but we proposed calling tenants by floor number to alleviate that concern.
Tie-Dye is now resting in my suite, until the proper time...
Today is the Celebration of Life in Calgary for our old friend Keith Keers. RIP Keith, ....we had a good ride together.
